Pita Mei has been an artist for most of his life, working on projects all across the country and abroad. Ao Legends debuts as his first independent project, reimagining some of the most famous stories of Hawaiki, Aotearoa and the South Pacific through a modern Māori lens. This is an attempt to connect social and environmental aspects of today to our cultural legends of the past, to inspire the future legends of tomorrow.
