About the co-editors
Melanie Kwang is a first-generation Taishanese-New Zealand writer from Ōtautahi. She completed the Master of Creative Writing at the University of Auckland in 2018. Her work has been published in various magazines and anthologies, and performed as play readings with local theatre companies.
By day, Rebecca Reader helps university students polish their academic writing. By night, she dances and writes stories. It’s often while dancing that she has solved seemingly insoluble issues with plots and characters. Her stories and poems have been published by journals in New Zealand, the UK, and Latin America.
Rebecca Styles has a PhD and MA in Creative Writing. She’s had several short stories published in New Zealand journals and anthologies, such as The Reading Room and Landfall.
Clare Travaglia is a fiction writer, editor, and reviewer based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She completed her Master of Creative Writing at the University of Auckland in 2022.
Philippa Tucker is a Wairarapa-based writer and editor. Her work has been published in Turbine | Kapohau, Blackmail Press, takahē and Flash Frontier, and nominated for Best Microfiction 2023 and Best Small Fictions 2024.
Jill Varani is an Auckland-based writer and mum of three. She won the 2019 Sunday Star Times Short Story Award, and has been recognised in several other short story competitions in New Zealand. She is published in takahē, Newsroom, Mayhem, and two anthologies of short fiction.
